As a licensed clinical psychologist, I’ve run a private practice for over 30 years for individuals, couples and families. I offer assistance with anxiety, depression, early trauma, self-esteem and relationship issues, among other conditions. At the University of Illinois, I specialized in couples and family therapy.

As a Brazilian-American, and having lived in various countries, I also specialize in cross-cultural psychology. My doctoral dissertation was on the impact of migration and its consequences on families and individuals.

With psychotherapy, I believe in helping people become their own authority. I work on helping clients, in a collaborative way, to reach an awareness of the inner and outer constraints which stop them from reaching a more balanced and healthy life. I utilize a variety of treatment methods, including cognitive and psychodynamic approaches and dream work.

I offer face-to-face sessions as well as Zoom meetings, and set my prices on a sliding scale to accommodate various income brackets.
